Yum’s The Word” is the only show that blends old-school fun with modern-day storytelling. Each month comedic storyteller, Robin Gelfenbien, hosts this unique event replete with Mad Libs, Pin the Hose on the Fireman and her homemade ice cream cakes.*

Ed Gavagan

Ed has been telling stories onstage since 2009; his stories have been on NPR with the Moth Story Hour, on the Moth iTunes podcast and he did a TED talk in 2012. He is very happy to tell stories and even happier when people listen. In his day job, Ed Gavagan is the owner of PraxisNYC, a design/build firm practicing across a broad spectrum but specializing in boutique residences. Ed creates homes and furniture for fancy people and humble folk the world over. Ed lives in Manhattan with his wife and daughter.

Jim O’Grady

Jim O’Grady is a reporter for WNYC Radio. He has told stories on This American Life, Studio 360 with Kurt Andersen, and National Public Radio. He’s also a Moth GrandSLAM champ.

Bridget O’Neill

Bridget O’Neill is a storyteller, writer, comedian and a Mothslam winner. She performs regularly at numerous storytelling and comedy venues throughout New York and beyond including The Moth, First Person Arts, Story League. She’s also appeared on RISK!, How I Learned, The Soundtrack Series, Ask Me and Yum’s the Word. You can learn more about her and her shenanigans here.

Fiona Walsh

As a storyteller, Fiona has performed on The Moth Mainstage and at RISK!. She writes and performs character and sketch comedy and as a stand up has performed all over the Northeast and in Ireland at the Galway Comedy Festival and the International Comedy Club. Her material has been published in Judy Brown’s compilation humor book Love’s Funny That Way alongside such folks as Ellen, Jerry Seinfeld and Rita Rudner.
 
She’s been on The Joey Reynolds Show on WOR710AM and on Lionel Show on Air America. You can also see her at Sundays at Seven, a monthly music/comedy show she co-produces and performs in at the Irish Arts Center. “Great White American Teeth”, her one person show, was featured in 1st Irish 08. She also performed it at the Midtown International Theater Festival and off-Broadway at the Irish Repertory Theatre.
 
She’s also a DJ and has some fun playing alongside some of her techno heroes.

Robin Gelfenbien is the self-proclaimed Ambassador of Fun and an NYC-based storyteller, writer and comedian. She’s a three-time Moth Story SLAM winner who has performed on PBS, RISK!, Mortified and countless other shows. She’s also shared the stage with Hannah Gadsby, Trevor Noah and more.

Robin is the Creator and Host of the storytelling series and podcast, “Yum’s the Word,” that features her homemade ice cream cakes. The show has been named a New York Times and Time Out New York Critic’s Pick. Guests have included Tim Gunn, Jason Biggs, Joy Behar and stars from “Orange is the New Black.”

New York Magazine called her solo show, “My Salvation Has a First Name: A Wienermobile Journey,” “the highlight of the Fringe” and Time Out New York gave it 4 stars.

She’s performed her original comedy songs at The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and on Sirius Radio. She’s also been featured in Marie Claire magazine and she starred in a commercial directed by Spike Lee.
