YOUNG PARIS, aka Milandou Badila, is parading into the industry like a breath of fresh air. He’s been getting a lot of coverage for his unique blend of formulated melodies that vacillate between Hip-Hop, Trap, and African drumbeats.

Young Paris totes an origin story that blends cultures from three corners of the world. Born to Congolese parents, his father founded the National Ballet of Congo. This unity played an important role in Congo’s independence in the 1960’s and brought peace to many villages and united them in dance. His mother, a respected play writer and dancer joined his father’s company in Paris after touring with world famous ‘Rose Marie Guiraud’.
They later had ten children – one of whom would borrow his stage moniker from the French capital. After performing in a dance group with his siblings in the Congo, and his early upbringings in France, his family settled back in New York where his foundation has since been cemented.

YP and his siblings pay tribute to their heritage by donning traditional dress and body-paint, updated for modern impact. They grew up with a very strong traditional outlook on culture, be it the way they eat, perform, and dance, they represent themselves as modern day, unapologetic Africans.

Now taking on the task of fusing his palette to create Afro-centric art, the 27-year-old fuses the pulsing sounds of “AfroBeats” to bring his own brand of self-love to the world stage. Since crafting his sound with his 2014 project Rap | Electronic, Young Paris was then selected to perform at Arcade Fire’s KANPE KANAVAL, as well as the Parisian leg of the AFROPUNK Festival, which helped open many doors for him.

He is now an Artistic Director, Music Producer and Song Writer who has worked with Grammy award winning producers and gained the attention of some of the top Fashion brands in the World.

Young Paris has recently been featured in Billboard, The Fader, REVOLT, BET, Vice, XXL Mag, Pigeons & Planes, in addition to his impact on fashion in VOGUE, WWD, Harpers Bazaar, Essence & VMAN. Paris also recently attended the CFDA Fashion Fund Awards as a special guest of Rio Uribe of Gypsy Sport who won the past year and got his nod of approval after officially meeting Anna Wintour at the Red Carpet. In December, he dropped his acclaimed full-length Album, “African Vogue” and recently released an official remix for “Best of Me”, featuring Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage, and “One Time” featuring Reekado Banks Young Paris’ latest accomplishment finds him as a signee to the Jay-Z’s entertainment brand, Roc Nation. This move solidifies his mission to bring his international vibes to the mainstream. Tying in his roots with the times, Young Paris is ready to introduce his wave of Afrobeats and unique style in into pop culture.

DJ Tunez

DJ Tunez musical exposure started from listening to his father’s vast collection of Afro music. From the beginning, he was captivated by the effect music had on people, as well as the different emotions it evoked. Brought up in a household with both African and Caribbean influences, he was exposed to a multitude of musical genres.

Tunez was raised in the culturally diverse borough of Brooklyn, NY which increased his infatuation with various types of music such as Afrobeat, Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, Reggae, Soca, Rock, Funk, Jazz, Blues and much more. Music became a way to escape the sometimes-harsh environment in which he lived. At the age of 11 he learned how to play the drums, ultimately playing for the church band. It was at this time where he learned how to mix music, accompanying his father to different church events where he provided speakers and played music. He later went on to DJ at churches, as well as other small events on his own. He cultivated this hobby for years, which led to the manifestation of his skillset eventually leading others to take notice of his talent. As of today, he has toured the east coast performing at events from Atlanta to New England. From sell out events at Amazura Concert Hall to private international destination events, DJ Tunez simply gets the job done. His growing brand is a testament to the resume he has built for himself. DJ Tunez takes his listeners on a journey from beginning to end, traveling musically from one continent to the next with seamless transitions. You can catch him at any event spinning music that educes his audience to display the new infectious dances sweeping Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the United States. When he’s not performing in nightclubs or private events, DJ Tunez can be found in the studio collaborating with different national/international artists to produce a sound that is becoming undeniably more popular.
