Running Late with Scott Rogowsky – a live comedy talk show featuring celebrity guests

Drawing on the late-night tradition from Carson to Cavett to Conan, host Scott Rogowsky and his sidekick/dad Marty welcome an eclectic mix of comedians, musicians, authors, actors, and local celebs to the couch for a unique live talk show experience that needs to be experienced to be experienced.

Called “always jubilant, always fascinating” by the New York Times, a “millennial comic on the rise” by Mic, and “The King of Brooklyn Late Night” by some other thing somewhere else, Scott brings “the comedy talk show for the Internet Age” (New York Magazine!) to the heart of Greenwich Village and Le Poisson Rouge for the first time ever, and he couldn’t be happier about it.

Past guests include: Regis Philbin, Steve Buscemi, Dick Cavett, David Cross, Amy Sedaris, Jerry Springer, Kevin Nealon, Gilbert Gottfried, Cecily Strong, Chris Elliott, David Wain, Jim Gaffigan, Nathan Fielder.

Paul Dano

Paul Dano began his career on the New York stage with supporting roles in the Broadway revival of Inherit the Wind, directed by John Tillinger, opposite George C. Scott and Charles Durning; and the Madison Square Garden staging of A Christmas Carol, directed by Mike Ockrent, with Ben Vereen and Terrence Mann. Most recently, he starred off-Broadway in the Ethan Hawke-directed production of The New Group’s Things We Want, with Peter Dinklage, Josh Hamilton, and Zoe Kazan.

Mr. Dano received a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in a dual role opposite Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis in Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood. The film marked his second consecutive starring role in a Best Picture Golden Globe and Academy Award nominee, following his performance in Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris’ Little Miss Sunshine, in which he starred with Abigail Breslin, Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Greg Kinnear, and Academy Award winner Alan Arkin. With his fellow actors from the latter feature, Mr. Dano shared the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture as well as the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Acting Ensemble; additionally, he won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Young Actor for his performance in the film.

His first lead role in Michael Cuesta’s L.I.E., opposite Brian Cox, earned him an Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut Performance as well as the Best Actor Award at the Stockholm Film Festival and (in a tie) the Grand Jury Award for Outstanding Actor in a Feature Film at L.A.’s Outfest.

His other films include Rebecca Miller’s The Ballad of Jack and Rose, also with Mr. Day-Lewis; D.J. Caruso’s Taking Lives; James Marsh’s The King; Richard Linklater’s Fast Food Nation; and Matt Aselton’s Gigantic, which Mr. Dano executive-produced and starred in alongside Zooey Deschanel and John Goodman.

He will soon be seen in Dagur Kári’s The Good Heart, also with Brian Cox; Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are, adapted by Mr. Jonze and Dave Eggers from Maurice Sendak’s classic book; and Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini’s The Extra Man, with Kevin Kline, John C. Reilly, and Katie Holmes.

Aparna Nancherla

Aparna Nancherla official site | Aparna Nancherla on Twitter

Aparna Nancherla is a comedian and general silly billy. Her sense of humor is dry, existential, and absurd, with notes of uncalled-for whimsy. Think a wine you didn’t order.

You can currently watch Aparna as Grace the belabored HR rep on the Comedy Central’s Corporate. She has also appeared on Two Dope Queens on HBO, Bojack Horseman, Crashing, Master of None, A Simple Favor, Love, and Inside Amy Schumer. Her half-hour special is available on Netflix and her debut album, Just Putting It Out There, is available through Bentzen Ball Records.

On Monday nights, Aparna co-hosts the new show Butterboy at Littlefield in Park Slope at 8 p.m. with Jo Firestone and Maeve Higgins.

Josh Zepps (HuffPo Live)

Josh Zepps is one of the founding hosts of HuffPost Live. In his native Australia, he won Australia’s highest radio prize for his long-running satirical comedy sketches on Sydney radio. On TV, he was the host and co-executive producer of Australian Idol Backstage, the behind-the-scenes component of the country’s most popular show. In New York City, Josh was the host and creative producer of Brink, a weekly TV show on Discovery Science Channel. Later, he was anchor and correspondent on CBS News Productions’ Peabody-winning Channel One News. He has hosted TV shows on Nick at Night, the Style Network, Bloomberg TV and the Discovery Channel. As host of the Style Series, he appeared live on the fortyfoot tall video billboards above Times Square with guests such as Robin Thicke, Cynthia Rowley, Rihanna and Edward Norton.

Landlady

“This is the part of the song when we come together,” Adam Schatz’s voice rings out. “There’s no before. There’s no after. There’s only this.” Schatz leads Landlady, the Brooklyn five-piece whose 2014 Hometapes debut, Upright Behavior, boldly disrupts the notion of genre and reveals the soulful and continually-resonating work of Schatz and core band members Ian Chang, Ian McLellan Davis, Booker Stardrum, and Will Graefe, as well as a cast of NYC-based contributors gathered from Schatz’s tandem walks of life as a solo musician, improviser, organizer, collaborator, promoter, and writer. Compared to rock and roll juggernauts like The Band and Talking Heads, Landlady merge vast skill, a bend toward experimentation, and a proven belief that songs can be a true extension of the human experience. The result is timeless and charted by their recorded works and transformative live shows — both critically-acclaimed and ever-evolving. Landlady released a new EP, Heat, this summer, in tandem with nationwide tours with Son Lux and Buke and Gase.
