Album Release of Something of Life
Something of Life is the debut solo album of cellist, Jeffrey Zeigler on Innova Records. After eight seasons as a member of the Kronos Quartet, Zeigler is forging a new path as a soloist and collaborative artist moving fluidly across style and genre. His recent collaborations include such artists as Andy Akiho, Laurie Anderson, Nora Chipaumire, Hauschka, Vijay Iyer, David Krakauer, the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company and Kimmo Pohjonen and he has given the world premiers of works written for him by Mohammed Fairouz, Jesse Jones, John King, Glenn Kotche, Gity Razaz and John Zorn.
Something of Life features new works by Philip Glass, Glenn Kotche, Felipe Perez Santiago, Paola Prestini, Gity Razaz and John Zorn with special guest performances by Glenn Kotche, Felipe Perez Santiago and Jason Treuting from So Percussion.
Something of Life is a sonic exploration of human existence. The journey begins with the discovery of a human being through religion and their questions of faith and belief. The album then continues on a path through fantasy, magic, memories and the cosmos before finally being brought back to earth where one must find resolution with their fate.
Shadow Lines by Gity Razaz and Something of Life by Glenn Kotche were commissioned by VisionIntoArt. The CD release will be accompanied by a video release by VisionIntoArt of Glaub by Felipe Perez Santiago and Listen, Quiet by Paola Prestini. Both of these films are by S. Katy Tucker and were commissioned by VisionIntoArt.

Table seating for all seated shows is reserved exclusively for ticket holders who purchase “Table Seating” tickets. By purchasing a “Table Seating” ticket you agree to also purchase a minimum of two food and/or beverage items per person. Table seating is first come, first seated. Please arrive early for the best choice of available seats. Seating begins when doors open. Tables are communal so you may be seated with other patrons. We do not take table reservations.
A standing room area is available by the bar for all guests who purchase “Standing Room” tickets. Food and beverage can be purchased at the bar but there is no minimum purchase required in this area.
All tickets sales are final. No refund or credits.
This event will be streamed live online through LPR’s streaming channel, beginning at 6pm.

SPECIAL ARTIST Jeffrey Zeigler
Jeffrey Zeigler was the cellist of the internationally renowned Kronos Quartet for eight seasons. He has been the recipient of the Avery Fischer Prize, the Polar Music Prize and the President’s Merit Award from the National Academy of Recorded Arts.
Mr. Zeigler has released over two dozen recordings for Nonesuch, Blue Note, Cantaloupe, Deutsche Grammophon, Smithsonian Folkways and Tzadik. In Fall 2014, Zeigler released his debut solo album, Something of Life, on Innova as a joint collaboration with VisionIntoArt. The album features world premier recordings of works by Philip Glass, Glenn Kotche, Paola Prestini and John Zorn.

Praised for his “excellent” and “precisely attuned” performances by the New York Times, percussionist Ian David Rosenbaum has developed a musical breadth far beyond his years. He made his Kennedy Center debut in 2009 and later that year garnered a special prize created for him at the Salzburg International Marimba Competition.
Last season, Mr. Rosenbaum joined the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s CMS Two program as only the second percussionist they have selected in their history. Mr. Rosenbaum has performed with the acclaimed So Percussion group and has appeared at the Norfolk, Yellow Barn, Chamber Music Northwest and Music@Menlo festivals.
Highlights of the 2013-2014 season include a tour of Southern California performing Christopher Cerrone’s Memory Palace, a recital at the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C. and a solo performance on the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s New Music in the Kaplan Penthouse series.
Continuing his passionate advocacy for contemporary music, this season Mr. Rosenbaum will premiere new works for percussion by Andy Akiho, David Crowell, Tawnie Olson and Paola Prestini.
Mr. Rosenbaum is a member of Sandbox Percussion, Le Train Bleu, the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, Novus NY and Time Travelers. He has recorded for the Bridge, Innova and Naxos labels and is on the faculty of the Dwight School in Manhattan. Mr. Rosenbaum endorses Vic Firth sticks and mallets.
