Los-Angeles based award-winning singer/songwriter Dessy Di lauro returns after a sensational debut performance at LPR this past June. Di Lauro delivers a unique flavor of original music self-described as ‘Feathered Fro-Hawk Futuristic Art Deco Centric Harlem Renaissance Hep Music’, with a live show incorporating elements from the “Speakeasy Era”. Her Neo-Ragtime show transports you back to the days of the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920-30’s with an added flavor of urban contemporary edge of truly original music.
On stage, Di Lauro is backed by her top-notch band led by her producer/musical director/pianist, Ric’key Pageot, who himself, has recently composed for Jill Scott and Earth Wind and Fire. Pageot is in town to perform the week of the LPR performance with Madonna at MSG and Barclay’s Center, part of her Rebel Heart world Tour.
Di Lauro and Pageot are also set to release their EP, ‘Say Hep Hep’ on September 18th, 2015, the follow up to their critically acclaimed album, ‘This Is Neo-Ragtime’ (CrazyglueMusic 2013), which was voted ‘Album of The Year’ by the highly regarded Soultracks.com music critics.

Also, as a nod to NYC’s fashion week, the evening will begin with celebrity fashion designer/stylist Nonja McKenzie. She has worked with the likes of Miguel, Macy Gray, Gwen Stefanie, and Nicki Minaj in her 2015 MTV Music Award winning video ‘Anaconda’. McKenize will be presenting her 2016 Spring/Summer collection this evening. Sounds throughout the evening will be provided by New York favorite, ILLspokinn.

iLLspokinn has been one of New York’s hip-hop cornerstones for over a decade through both his contributions to the scene and his scene-stealing performances. In addition to rocking the stage, iLL has made a reputation setting it for a number of successful and well-received events. He co-founded and co-hosts Freestyle Mondays, the longest running freestyle hip-hop open mic in New York City, now entering its eleventh year with recent international incarnations launched in Prague and France. iLL has also, alongside Tru Statement Entertainment, been the driving force behind the live Props to Hip-Hop concert series, a rap tribute multi-artist performance that’s quickly become one of Manhattan’s most buzzed about hip-hop events.
This year, iLL expanded into the boardroom as the co-founder, Vice President and Manager of the independent multimedia production company Rae Maxwell Inc.
When considering iLL has also had a #1 iTunes single, a chart-topping song in Spain, an album released as part of Rawkus Records’ Rawkus 50, a starring role in promotional spots for MTV, collaborations with Sadat X of Brand Nubian and most recently a series of successful international DJ tours (DJ VYNiLLspokinn), it’s proof he’s a success on both sides of the spotlight.
