Pianist Orli Shaham’s Baby Got Bach presents the third concert of Season II on April 22, 2012, 11 am at (Le) Poisson Rouge. The concert, designed especially for children age 3 to 6, begins with Backstage Up Front, where children meet the musicians and help play the instruments. At the Soundcheck Jam, kids play instruments and sing songs with us. And then, Orli is joined on stage by great guest musicians for a chamber music concert. Past guests have included violinist Gil Shaham, the Escher String Quartet and Tessera Quartet. Guest musicians for this show will be announced soon.
This is a general admission event. Seating is limited and available on a first come, first seated basis. Standing room is also available. We recommend arriving early.
LPR offers a membership program that guarantees members seating for future shows. Click here for more info.
The bar will not be open during this event. However, water will be available, and patrons are invited to bring their own refreshments if they wish.

Curated by the pianist Orli Shaham, the event features hands-on activities, where kids have a chance to play with musical instruments they’d never even be allowed to touch anywhere else. Then it’s on to the stage to enjoy a listening tour of great live chamber music, featuring Orli and her friends.
The program is aimed toward children age 3 to 6 years old, but all ages are welcome. We promise great music and a great time for everyone!

The pianist Orli Shaham got an early start in her music career. She began playing piano at age four, and got her first music scholarship when she was five. Just a couple years later, she began her studies at The Juilliard School with Herbert Stessin. That was the beginning of a flood of prestigious performances and awards, launching her international career. Orli has performed with many of the world’s great orchestras, and has been lauded for her recitals at Carnegie Hall, the 92nd Street Y and Lincoln Center, as well as a slew of other renowned concert halls across the country and around the globe.
Orli is mom to three-year-old twins Nathan and Alex and teenage stepsons Peter and Jonathan. She lives in New York and St. Louis with her husband, conductor David Robertson.
