Criptease will be a radical, joyful and uproarious night of sexy fun, striptease, and comedy, from performers with and without disabilities that like to push the boundaries of what crips are and aren’t meant to do. In taking Monday July 26th, Obama’s new day of celebration of Americans with disabilities, we’re hoping to make an annual antidote to charity posters everywhere, show a lot of T&A, and celebrate 20 years of the ADA by being as sexy as HELL. Telethon this AIN’T.

Mat Fraser has become one the favourite hosts of International Burlesque shows in the last few years, from Liverpool to Seattle, Northern Holland to Scotland, and mostly in New York & London. His British wit, lack of political correctness around disability, the sideshow style, his playful sexuality, songs, comedy and outrageous antics onstage have made him a popular face on the cabaret and burlesque scene. He is the title holder of the Erotic Award (U.K.) for Best Male Striptease artist 2007.
He is also one of the UK’s best known disabled performers, mostly for his television work like “Born Freak” , his study of freak shows and disabled performers in history, and for his acting work in both feature films and shorter dramas and TV series etc, such as his leading role in the BBC’s feature “Every Time You Look At Me” , playing Calchas the Seer in US TV’s “Helen Of Troy” , the lead role in a new cult action film, “Unarmed But Dangerous” as well as the forthcoming drama series “Cast Offs”, for British TV.
He regularly MC’s cabaret, increasingly for International audiences with the burlesque superstars of New York City. Julie Atlas Muz
Julie Atlas Muz, Miss Exotic World and Miss Coney Island 2006, one of the most acclaimed and prolific conceptual performers and choreographers in New York is a star of stage and screen. Straddling the boundaries between performance art, dance and fine art with her dark, twisted, come-hither performances Muz has secured a place in the underworld of nightlife as well as the bastion of the art world. On any given night, you can see Julie Atlas Muz peeling off the outlandish costumes she dons, covered in fake blood in the basement of a gay bar or singing along with Mr. Pussy’s new track—in essence expressing her bawdy, irreverent and unexpected sense of humour. Fresh from the directing “The Four Strippers of the Apocalypse Show” at the Bumbershoot and Noorderzon Festivals, Muz is most famous as a star of the burlesque stage and as a mermaid. A 2004 Whitney Biennial Artist and a 2005 Valencia Biennale Artist and a feature performer in the Nantes 2007 Biennale, France, Muz played Blanche in a post modern take on Street Car Named Desire with Ong Keng Sen’s Singapore based company Theatre Works. In the US, Muz has presented her dance work in New York City and nationwide with the Sex Workers Art show including venues such as The Guggenheim, Art at St. Anne’s Warehouse, chashama, La Mama, The Kitchen, and Dixon Place and has exhibited her fine art at the Armory Show and at New York’s premiere gallery Dietch Projects. Late at night you can see Julie Atlas Muz perform regularly in New York at Speigel World, The Slipper Room, The Box, Sideshow by the Seashore and a host of other locations. Muz, a Lambent Fellow 2005-8 and an Ethyl Eichelberger Award 2006 recipient has been awarded Artist- in-Residency status from Chashama (2002), Joyce Soho (2001),Dixon Place (2000) and Movement Research (1998-99). Liz Carr
Liz Carr is wheelchair using actor, writer and stand-up comedian from the UK. She co-hosts the irreverent BBC Ouch! podcast with Mat Fraser (www.bbc.co.uk/ouch/podcast), as a comedian she often encourages audiences to 'spazz-up' and she has a love of dressing up and undressing in public. Melissa King is MsTickle. Trained in physical theatre, and dance she is an innovator and star in the burlesque scene. Crowned the “Queen of gags and gimmicks” for her sorceress-like ability to design and create gorgeous and unparalleled costumes. You can see her and her handy work featured in Esquire ,Italian Vogue and Vanity Fair ,the New York Times and The Village Voice. Her sensual genius has left audiences in, New York, London, San Francisco and The Bahamas clamoring for more.With appearances in long running shows that include ”Broadway Bares ,“Mantasia”, ”Pink Rhino”, “Guilty Pleasues”, “Rouge Coquette”, “Big Night Out”,and Speigal tents’ ”Absynth”. MsTickle is also one of the designers with Anti Gravity that create the infamous Marc Jacobs Christmas spectaculars.

Tigger! - dubbed "The Godfather of Boylesque" & "The Original King of Boylesque" - is a Stripperformance Artist/Actor/Dancer who has performed in NY & abroad for 22 years. NY's premier Boylesque stripper for 13 years (its only one for several years). Won the 1st ever Mr. Exotic World title (Best Boylesque) at Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas in 2006. Has also won 5 Golden Pastie Awards, including "Most Likely to Get Shut Down by the Law" & "Most Unpredictable Performer." Recently named the Top Male Burlesque Performer of 2009 in an international online poll. Greg Walloch has appeared on everything from The Howard Stern Show to Kurt Anderson's Studio 360 on Public Radio International. Chris Go Go Harder
Chris Go-Go Harder is simply an all-American boy from the prairie turned professional stripper. He has performed at such venues as the Slipper Room, Le Poisson Rouge, and Hera's Casino in Atlantic City as well as produced various boylesque shows at Splash Bar NYC, Posh, and currently, Vig 27. When not taking off his clothes for money, he enjoys brushing his cats and tipping other strippers.
Lezlie Frye
Lezlie Frye is a performance artist, activist, poet and scholar. She has performed at a wide range of artistic and cultural events, including festivals, workshops, and conferences. Frye aims to address intersecting forms of oppression and to locate critical resistance in the foxy bodies of cripples everywhere. She utilizes performance modes that fuse movement to storytelling and spoken word. Frye is currently a doctoral student in the American Studies Program, department of Social and Cultural Analysis, at New York University. Her academic work explores critical connections between dis/ability, race, sexuality, gender, and nation, with particular interest in art, aesthetics, and the politics of life and death.
Queer Gimp Girl
Leslie Freeman AKA Queer Gimp Girl, is a West Coast sassy sexy crip Queer powerhouse of Wow ! A social activist in many areas, notably disability and sexuality, she is happy to show out her beauty and sexiness for the good people of NYC, to show that people either got it or they ain’t, and honey, she got it.

I play a wide variety of styles including 60's garage, funk/soul, go-go, blues, rock, punk rock, hard rock, soft rock, indie-rock, classic rock, Plymouth Rock, lounge/exotica, latin, be-bop, doo-wop, boogaloo, old-school, new wave, disco, oddities, 20's through now...
Some of the events I've DJ'ed include the Burlesque Hall of Fame (Exotic World) '08 and '09, The NY Burlesque Festivals (all of them), The Virgin Music Festivals in Baltimore '06 & '07, The Rothbury Music Festival '08 (MI), BurlyCon in '09 (Seattle), The Vespa Soho grand opening (where I got to spin some tunes for and shake hands with Tony Bennett - righteous...), The Dreamland Roller Rink Grand Opening (Coney Island), and The Atlantic Antic Street Festivals (Brooklyn) '04, '06, '07, '08 & '09.
Currently I'm at The Slipper Room weekly for wild stomping go-go & burlesque in the Lower East Side! I am also regularly at the Royale and The Last Exit in Brooklyn playing funk/soul, old school and all kinds of danceables. I spin occasional in-and-out-of-town events for burlesque legends, The World Famous Pontani Sisters (NYC), Trixie Little & The Evil Hate Monkey (Baltimore), and Lobsterboy (DC) to name a few.
I've done parties at multiple venues throughout New York City from large nightclubs such as The Roxy, The Limelight and The Supper Club to theaters, smaller venues, basement parties and other establishments of ill-repute. You can find me at a wide range of events such as burlesque/vaudeville nights, funk & soul parties, bizarre theme nights, swing dance parties, roller-skating parties, corporate parties, holiday parties, and even weddings, b-days, and children's events!
I am proficient in running basic sound for live music, and I have also provided sound-scaping services for small nightclubs, restaurants, retail venues and even for international Gucci retail outlets (through Scratch Academy).
