I Love Vinyl: Love X Love Edition

Description
I Love Vinyl present the Love X Love Edition Slow Jams, Lovesongs, and Lifesongs
*The ethos of the night is best expressed by I Love Vinyl resident dj/philosopher-king Ge-Ology:
"I would like to play anything that relates to love, regardless of tempo and genre....because real love isn't always pretty, perfect or neatly polished...nor is it predictable. I think whatever music we play should reflect this...should be just as varied and unpredictable as the many moods, lessons and manifestations that love often appear as. That's what makes love so confusing yet so exciting and fulfilling. Real love isn't always a fairytale...and sometimes you have to go through lots of heartache and lessons before you discover what it really is...or who that love will eventually be. Personally...I say fuck Valentines Day along with every other holiday, because really loving someone and being loved by someone is something far more special that should be appreciated every single day, or could be celebrated at any given moment...multiple times throughout the year and continuously during the lifetime of the relationship.
I think it suits us better if we don't define what we will be playing all night long...because it could become limiting, predictable and stale after a while. I'd rather let it be up to the individual to choose where we want to go music-wise and allow the songs we choose to say what we want to say in reference to love....thus keeping the possibilities of the night exciting to the ear, the body and the heart rather then going a more stereotypical, expected route. And I'm saying all of this not to rebel against love songs...because trust me, I LOVE slow jams and love songs...I miss hearing and playing them at parties like we used to do back in the day....but I'd prefer not only to play those, but other music as well throughout the course of the night, keeping people guessing...slow dancing, grinding, boogieing and whatever else the music inspires them to do. Feel me?
And who knows...maybe not everyone in attendance is involved in a relationship or are a couple...but instead, maybe they could end up meeting someone at our party, etc, etc. Whether they are in love, in pursuit of love, fell out of love, hate love or simply just love music...I want them all to enjoy themselves because I think this night could be very special."
$5 (plus $5 well drinks b4 11pm)
